Standard Dimensions:
- Thickness: 1/8", 1/4", 3/8", & 1/2"
- Width: 4' & 5'
- Length: 8' & 12'
Note: #3316 Carbon Laminate panels are not available in the 1/8" thickness or 5' width.
Fabrication:
Laminate panels are fabricated by laying up epoxy impregnated woven Carbon or fabricated Fiberglass fabric to the appropriate thickness. Panels are then press cured, trimmed, and post cured.
Finish:
Peel ply on both faces
Features:
- High strength and stiffness
- Low coefficient of thermal expansion
- Long term stability at ambient and high temperatures
- Removable peel ply provides a bond ready surface for subsequent bonding
- Typical delivery in 3-4 weeks
- Laminates can be pre-cut and delivered in kits
Application
The composite tooling industry uses laminated panels for numerous applications, which require a thin, high strength reinforcement. Due to the very low coefficient of thermal expansion, laminates are ideal for supports on bonding tools and master models used at high temperatures.
Other popular uses in the industry include eggcrate and truss reinforcements.
