Burnham’s expertise in providing composite Parts and Assemblies goes back many years. From structural products such as ribs, spars, and frames to non-structural products such as ducting and interior components we have the ability to hold tight tolerancing in order to meet your needs.
Value-added assembly is performed by highly-trained individuals, with the sourcing and integration of the details being managed by our supply chain management organization.
Developing complex Composite Tooling has been a core competency of Burnham for decades. The models or masters range from low-cost materials such as wood and foam to high performance materials such as monolithic graphite. High temperature lay-up mandrels or molds are fabricated by our highly trained technicians from bismaleimide (BMI) and epoxy resin systems and graphite or fiberglass fibers.
Burnham also supports customers who make their own tool face sheets with Tooling Substructures. Customers supply the required surface geometry and base plane envelope. Burnham then designs the backup structure to your specifications. Burnham delivers a post-cured eggcrate assembly ready to attach to the tool face, or a pre-cut kit ready for assembly.
Designed and developed by Burnham, our Fiber-Lok™ tooling reinforcement materials are a collection of panels, tubes, and angles that are fabricated from composite materials, which are well established in the aerospace composite tooling industry. The latest defense, commercial, general aviation, rotorcraft, and space programs utilize Fiber-Lok™ tooling reinforcements.
